Osteoporosis can be avoided if testing is done proactively in the 30's and 40's. By establishing a base line bone strength early in life you can monitor your bones on a regular basis and ensure that they are kept strong. If your bone strength is poor when being tested early in life, you will have many years to improve it. Why would anyone wait until they are older or have had a fracture before having their first test?

BoneWave Diagnostics testers use only the best, state of the art bone density testing equipment. We use the Omnisense 8000S sonometer. The Omnisense is Sunlight Medical's newest ultrasound (speed of sound) testing technology.

Why use the Omnisense 8000S?

- Able to test more than one bone (no other ultrasound unit is able to do more than 1   bone).

- Able to test weight bearing as well as non-weight bearing bone.

- Highly sensitive, giving accurate results with both T and Z scores.

- Immediate test results which can be tracked over the years.

- Uses speed of a sound wave to measure bone density and therefore has no risk of   radiation. Traditional hospital DEXA testing involves small amounts of radiation.

- The denser or stronger the bone, the faster the sound wave travels along the bone   giving a higher score. The less dense or weaker the bone, the slower the sound   wave travels along the bone and the lower the score.
